Canada at a Crossroads online book study

Led by Steve Heinrichs (Mennonite Church Canada) Begins October 8

Steve writes: “The Truth and Reconciliation Commission has called all churches to learn a more accurate history of “Canada”, to understand Treaty relationships, and to grapple with the structural and interpersonal reasons for the fractured Indigenous-Settler relationship. Jeff Denis’ new book is an awesome resource to help Settlers do this work. For 8 weeks, we’ll read through the text, share our learnings and questions, and explore next steps on the journey of decolonization. If you’re interested, we start up on October 8, and you can register here— https://www.mennonitechurch.ca/crossroads-bookclub.”

The book may be ordered through McNally Robinson or Common Word Bookstore in Winnipeg or check with your local bookstore.

An invitation from our neighbours in faith

Christian Meditation – A time-honoured way of prayer for life today

In stressful times our relationship with God becomes more important.

Learn how to “be still and know that I am God” by attending the on-line 6 week Introduction to Christian Meditation course beginning on Monday October 19 at 7:30 pm.

Phil Barnett, Regional Coordinator for the Canadian Christian Meditation Community (CCMC) will be offering this course, the content of which is provided by the World Community for Christian Meditation.

The course might be a good refresher for those who have been meditating for a while and also a kick-start if you’ve lapsed for a while and want to begin again.

For more information and to register contact Gail Brooks at rgbrooks2@shaw.ca

Till next week,

Yours in faith,

Teresa
