Healing Garden

Harrow United Church planted a Healing Garden in 2021, with help from the generous hands of many, including Dr. Karen Froman, who shared her knowledge of Indigenous traditional plants and healing medicines. Karen teaches history at University of Winnipeg and completed her PHD thesis at University of Manitoba.

“We have an opportunity to not only beautify the property but also to extend opportunities for relationships and conversations,” said Minister Teresa Moysey.

All plants are sacred.

Traditional Plants & Healing Medicines
When we smudge, we use the smoke to clear negative thoughts and energies. We clear our eyes, ears, mouths and hearts so we can see, hear and listen with openness and goodness in our hearts and minds. The smoke carries our prayers to the Creator.
