Let’s Pray

From all that calls for our attention, help us God, to be attentive to you.
Let us be still, or at least still enough to feel the breath that goes in and out of our bodies,
to sense the rhythm of our pulse and our heartbeat …
And help us, we pray, to be attentive to you not only as we pause to join in worship,
but attentive in the minutes, the seconds, the hours of our living in between times.
Help us to be attentive to you in every laugh and every tear.
Tune our breathing to your breath,
our spirits to the rhythm of your heart,
our wills to your invitation to follow.
In the name of the Christ, we pray. Amen

Next week, our Worship will include the celebration of
communion. You may want to have some form of bread,
wafer, or cracker, and something to drink with you when
you prepare to join us for Worship.

Prayer Concerns

We believe in the power of prayer! Please let us know of prayer requests you would like to have shared and/or included in our worship.

This week we received requests to include Bill B, in hospital with congestive heart failure and Laura, recent recipient of a double lung transplant, and for the families of the donor lungs.

STUDY AND DISCUSSION Beginning Thursday, February 18 at 1pm

Interested in joining others for some reading and discussion – and learning
more about the gospel according to John? We will meet by Zoom once a
week (Thursday afternoon) for an hour and half.

As a resource we will be using An Audacious Invitation by Walter
Farquharson and Jeff Cook. We are taking orders for print copies of the
book. Please contact the church office if you would like a print copy.
Price is $12.60. It’s also available as an ebook.

Do you enjoy a good read? And stimulating discussion with others about the
book? Then perhaps you’d like to join the Faithful Readers gathering on
Wednesday, January 27 at 1:30pm.
The book for discussion is From the Ashes by Jesse Thistle

Sunday coffee continues every week from 10 to 10:40am. This is a great
time to see some of the familiar Harrow faces, to meet new people, to chat
about our lives and the world, and just enjoy some time together.

Sundays 10:30-11:40 CST

The scripture reading this week (John 1: 35-51) contains the phrase “Come and see” a few times. During this Epiphany season, we are invited to ‘come and see’ where God is, what God is about, who Jesus is, and we’re invited to follow.

Our worship includes Jim Strathdee’s “I Am the Light of the World”.
To find the lost and lonely one, to heal the broken soul with love,
to feed the hungry children with warmth and good food,
to feel the earth below, the sky above!
To free the prisoner from all chains, to make the powerful care,
to rebuild the nations with strength of good will,
to see God’s children everywhere!
‘I am the light of the world! You people come and follow me!’
If you follow and love you’ll learn the mystery of what you were meant to do and be.
