Happy Mother’s Day

Weekly Message from Teresa

We didn’t quite manage to get some of the words on screen, so if you would like to join in the prayer after communion, this is it:

For the bread we have eaten, for the wine we have tasted,

for the life we have received, we thank you God.

Grant that what we have done and have been given here,

may so put its mark upon us, that it may remain always in our hearts.

Grant that we may we grow in Christian love and understanding,

and that ours may be lives of faithful action.

In Christ’s name Amen.

Likewise, the final hymn, Let us Talents and Tongues Employ (468 in Voices United) – if you’re inclined to sing (or hum or dance) along, here are the words:

1            Let us talents and tongues employ, reaching out with a shout of joy:

bread is broken, the wine is poured, Christ is spoken and seen and heard.

Jesus lives again, earth can breathe again,

pass the Word around: loaves abound!

Jesus lives again, earth can breathe again,

pass the Word around: loaves abound!

2            Christ is able to make us one, at the table he sets the tone,

teaching people to live to bless, love in word and in deed express.

Jesus lives again, earth can breathe again,

pass the Word around: loaves abound!

Jesus lives again, earth can breathe again,

pass the Word around: loaves abound!

3            Jesus calls us in, sends us out, bearing fruit in a world of doubt,

gives us love to tell, bread to share: God (Immanuel) everywhere!

Jesus lives again, earth can breathe again,

pass the Word around: loaves abound!

Jesus lives again, earth can breathe again,

pass the Word around: loaves abound!

Sunday Virtual Coffee – Join us any Sunday morning at 10

Because this is a recurring event, once we send you the link, you can choose to join or not on any given Sunday from 10 – 10:30am. If you haven’t asked for the recurring link yet, simply send an email to Teresa (tmoysey@harrowunited.ca) or to the office, or call the office (204-284-0079). All ages welcome!

Finally, a prayer (the words of Miriam Therese Winter – found in Voices United 280):

Mother and God, to you we sing:

wide is your womb, warm is your wing.

In you we live, move and are fed sweet, flowing milk, life giving bread.

Mother and God, to you we bring all broken hearts, all broken wings.

As always, please be in touch if there are concerns or ideas you would like to share. Hope to see some of you at coffee time.

Yours in Christ,

Teresa
